Monk 1:

ผ้ากฐินทาน กับทั้งผ้าอานิสงสบริวารทั้งปวงนี้ เป็นของ................ผู้กอปรด้วยศรัทธาอุตสาหะน้อมนำมาถวาย แด่พระภิกษุสงฆ์ผู้จำพรรษากาลถ้วนไตรมาสในอาวาสวิหารนี้

This kathina cloth, together with all the accompanying requisites, belongs to ................, who out of faith and diligence has respectfully brought it as an offering to the community of monks who have kept the rains residence for the full three months in this monastery.

ก็แลผ้ากฐินทานนี้ เป็นของบริสุทธิ์ดุจเลื่อนลอยมาโดยนภากาศ แล้วแลตกลงยังท่ามกลางสงฆ์ จะได้จำเพาะเจาะจงแก่พระภิกษุสงฆ์รูปหนึ่งรูปใดก็หามิได้ มีพระพุทธานุญาตไว้ให้แก่ภิกษุผู้มีจีวรอันเก่า หรือมีจีวรทุพพลภาพ หรือภิกษุรูปใดรูปหนึ่งซึ่งมีสติปัญญาสามารถอาจกระทำกฐินัตถารกิจ หรือภิกษุรูปใดรูปหนึ่งซึ่งมีสติปัญญาสามารถอาจกระทำกฐินัตถารกิจ มิให้เพี้ยนผิด ต้องตามวินัยนิยมบรมพุทธานุญาต

Now this kathina cloth is pure, as though it had drifted through the sky and come to rest in the midst of the Saṅgha; it is not designated for any one monk in particular. The Buddha allowed it for a monk whose robe is old, or whose robe is worn out, or for any monk who has the mindfulness and understanding to carry out the spreading of the kathina — for any monk who has the mindfulness and understanding to carry out the spreading of the kathina without error, in accordance with the discipline the Buddha allowed.

เมื่อได้กรานกฐินแล้วไซร้ อานิสงสคุณจะพึงบังเกิดมี 5 ประการ คือ อยู่ปราศจากไตรจีวรได้ ไม่เป็นอาบัติด้วยทุติยกฐินสิกขาบท 1 เก็บอติเรกจีวรไว้ได้ไม่เป็นอาบัติด้วยปฐมกฐินสิกขาบท 1 ฉันคณะโภชน์ปรัมปรโภชน์ได้ไม่เป็นอาบัติด้วยคณะโภชน์ และปรัมปรโภชน์สิกขาบท 1 เข้าไปในละแวกบ้านได้ไม่ต้องอาบัติด้วยอนามันตจาริกสิกขาบท 1 จีวรลาภที่บังเกิดขึ้นในอาวาสจะเป็นของภิกษุผู้ได้กรานกฐินแล้ว 1 ทั้งจีวรกาลจะยืดออกไปอีก 4 เดือนตลอดเหมันตฤดู ดังนี้

When the kathina has been spread, five benefits arise: one may be apart from the three robes without offence under the second kathina rule; one may keep an extra robe without offence under the first kathina rule; one may eat a group meal or an out-of-turn meal without offence under the group-meal and out-of-turn-meal rules; one may enter a village without offence under the rule on going without informing; robe-gains arising in the monastery belong to the monk who has spread the kathina; and the robe season is extended a further four months through the cold season.

บัดนี้ พระสงฆ์ทั้งหลายจะมีความยินยอมพร้อมกันรับกฐินนี้หรือไม่ ถ้ามีความยินยอมพร้อมกันรับกฐินนี้แล้วไซร้ จงให้สัททสัญญาสาธุการขึ้นให้พร้อมกันเทอญ. (สาธุ)

Now, will the assembled Saṅgha consent together to receive this kathina? If they do consent together to receive it, let them raise the sound of approval all together. (Sādhu)

Monk 2:

สมเด็จพระผู้มีพระภาคเจ้า ทรงอนุญาตกฐินัตถารกิจนั้นให้เป็นการเฉพาะบุคคล สงฆ์ก็ดี คณะก็ดี จะกรานกฐินไม่ได้ แต่เพราะอนุโมทนาแห่งสงฆ์และคณะและอัตถารกิจแห่งบุคคล กฐินเป็นอันสงฆ์อันคณะอันบุคคลกรานได้ ก็แลผ้ากฐินทานนี้ ควรแก่ภิกษุผู้มีจีวรเก่าหรือมีจีวรทุพพลภาพหรือภิกษุรูปใดจะมีอุตสาหะและสามารถทำจีวรกรรมใน

The Blessed One allowed the spreading of the kathina to be the act of an individual: neither the Saṅgha nor a group can spread the kathina. But through the rejoicing of the Saṅgha and of the group, and the act of the individual, the kathina counts as spread by Saṅgha, group and individual alike. And this kathina cloth is fitting for a monk whose robe is old or worn out, or for any monk who has the diligence and ability to do the robe work in
