อุปปาทา วา ภิกขะเว ตะถาคะตานัง อะนุปปาทา วา ตะถาคะตานัง, ฐิตา วะ สา ธาตุ ธัมมัฏฐิตะตา ธัมมะนิยามะตา สัพเพ สังขารา ทุกขาติ. ตัง ตะถาคะโต อะภิสัมพุชฌะติ อะภิสะเมติ, อะภิสัมพุชฌิต๎วา อะภิสะเมต๎วา อาจิกขะติ เทเสติ, ปัญญะเปติ ปัฏฐะเปติ, วิวะระติ วิภะชะติ อุตตานีกะโรติ สัพเพ สังขารา ทุกขาติ.

Uppādā vā bhikkhave tathāgatānaṃ anuppādā vā tathāgatānaṃ, ṭhitā va sā dhātu dhammaṭṭhitatā dhammaniyāmatā sabbe saṅkhārā dukkhāti. Taṃ tathāgato abhisambujjhati abhisameti, abhisambujjhitvā abhisametvā ācikkhati deseti, paññapeti paṭṭhapeti, vivarati vibhajati uttānīkaroti sabbe saṅkhārā dukkhāti.

Whether Tathagatas arise or do not arise, monks, that element stands: the stableness of things, the lawfulness of things — that all formations are suffering. That a Tathagata awakens to and penetrates; and having awakened to and penetrated it, he announces it, teaches it, makes it known, establishes it, discloses it, analyses it, makes it plain: that all formations are suffering.

อุปปาทา วา ภิกขะเว ตถาคะตานัง อะนุปปาทา วา ตะถาคะตานัง, ฐิตา วะ สา ธาตุ ธัมมัฏฐิตะตา ธัมมะนิยามะตา สัพเพ ธัมมา อะนัตตาติ. ตัง ตะถาคะโต อะภิสัมพุชฌะติ อะภิสะเมติ, อะภิสัมพุชฌิต๎วา อะภิสะเมต๎วา อาจิกขะติ เทเสติ, ปัญญะเปติ ปัฏฐะเปติ, วิวะระติ วิภะชะติ อุตตานีกะโรติ สัพเพ ธัมมา อะนัตตาติ.

อิทะมะโวจะ ภะคะวา, อัตตะมะนา เต ภิกขู ภะคะวะโต ภาสิตัง อะภินันทุนติ.

Idamavoca bhagavā, attamanā te bhikkhū bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinandunti.

Thus spoke the Blessed One, and those monks delighted in his words.

ยันตัง สัตเตหิ ทุกเขนะ เญยยัง อะนัตตะลักขะณัง

Yantaṃ sattehi dukkhena ñeyyaṃ anattalakkhaṇaṃ

That mark of not-self, hard for beings to know,

อัตตะวาทาตตะสัญญานัง สัมมะเทวะ วิโมจะนัง.

Attavādāttasaññānaṃ sammadeva vimocanaṃ.

the right release from self-doctrine and the perception of self.

สัมพุทโธ ตัง ปะกาเสสิ ทิฏฐะสัจจานะ โยคินัง

Sambuddho taṃ pakāsesi diṭṭhasaccāna yoginaṃ

The Awakened One made it known to those strivers who had seen the truth,

อุตตะริง ปะฏิเวธายะ ภาเวตุง ญาณะมุตตะมัง.

Uttariṃ paṭivedhāya bhāvetuṃ ñāṇamuttamaṃ.

for further penetration, to develop the highest knowledge.

ยันเตสัง ทิฏฐะธัมมานัง ญาเณนุปะปะริกขะตัง

Yantesaṃ diṭṭhadhammānaṃ ñāṇenupaparikkhataṃ

By which, for those who had seen the Dhamma, examined with knowledge,

สัพพาสะเวหิ จิตตานิ วิมุจจิงสุ อะเสสะโต.

Sabbāsavehi cittāni vimucciṃsu asesato.

their minds were released from all taints, without remainder.

ตะถา ญาณานุสาเรนะ สาสะนัง กาตุมิจฉะตัง

Tathā ñāṇānusārena sāsanaṃ kātumicchataṃ

So, following that knowledge, for those wishing to practise the teaching,

สาธูนัง อัตถะสิทธัตถัง ตัง สุตตันตัง ภะณามะ เส.

Sādhūnaṃ atthasiddhatthaṃ taṃ suttantaṃ bhaṇāma se.

and for the good, that their aim be accomplished — let us recite that discourse.
