โส เอวัง อะนุโรธะวิโรธะวิปปะหีโน ปะริมุจจะติ ชาติยา ชะรามะระเณนะ โสเกหิ ปะริเทเวหิ ทุกเขหิ โทมะนัสเสหิ อุปายาเสหิ, ปะริมุจจะติ ทุกขัส๎มาติ วะทามิ.

So evaṃ anurodhavirodhavippahīno parimuccati jātiyā jarāmaraṇena sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi upāyāsehi, parimuccati dukkhasmāti vadāmi.

Having thus abandoned welcoming and resisting, he is freed from birth, from ageing and death, from sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair; he is freed from suffering, I say.

อะยัง โข ภิกขะเว วิเสโส อะยัง อะธิปปายะโส อิทัง นานากะระณัง สุตะวะโต อะริยะสาวะกัสสะ อัสสุตะวะตา ปุถุชชะเนนาติ. อิทะมะโวจะ ภะคะวา. อิทัง วัต๎วานะ สุคะโต, อะถาปะรัง เอตะทะโวจะ สัตถา.

Ayaṃ kho bhikkhave viseso ayaṃ adhippāyaso idaṃ nānākaraṇaṃ sutavato ariyasāvakassa assutavatā puthujjanenāti. idamavoca bhagavā. idaṃ vatvāna sugato, athāparaṃ etadavoca satthā.

This, bhikkhus, is the distinction, this the difference, this the distinguishing mark between the learned noble disciple and the unlearned ordinary person.' This is what the Blessed One said. Having said this, the Well-gone One, the Teacher, further said this:

ลาโภ อะลาโภ อะยะโส ยะโส จะ

Lābho alābho ayaso yaso ca

Gain and loss, obscurity and fame,

นินทา ปะสังสา จะ สุขัง จะ ทุกขัง

Nindā pasaṃsā ca sukhaṃ ca dukkhaṃ

blame and praise, and pleasure and pain —

เอเต อะนิจจา มะนุเชสุ ธัมมา

Ete aniccā manujesu dhammā

these states among human beings are impermanent,

อะสัสสะตา วิปะริณามะธัมมา.

Asassatā vipariṇāmadhammā.

not lasting, of the nature to change.

เอเต จะ ญัต๎วา สะติมา สุเมโธ

Ete ca ñatvā satimā sumedho

Knowing them, the mindful one, wise,

อะเวกขะติ วิปะริณามะธัมเม

Avekkhati vipariṇāmadhamme

looks on at states that change:

อิฏฐัสสะ ธัมมา นะ มะเถนติ จิตตัง

Iṭṭhassa dhammā na mathenti cittaṃ

the welcome ones do not stir his mind,

อะนิฏฐะโต โน ปะฏิฆาตะเมติ.

Aniṭṭhato no paṭighātameti.

and the unwelcome bring him no resistance.

ตัสสานุโรธา อะถะวา วิโรธา

Tassānurodhā athavā virodhā

His liking, and his aversion too,

วิธูปิตา อัตถะคะตา นะ สันติ

Vidhūpitā atthagatā na santi

are scattered, gone to their end, not there;

ปะทัญจะ ญัต๎วา วิระชัง อะโสกัง

Padañca ñatvā virajaṃ asokaṃ

and knowing the state that is stainless, sorrowless,

สัมมัปปะชานาติ ภะวัสสะ ปาระคูติ.

Sammappajānāti bhavassa pāragūti.

he understands rightly, gone beyond becoming.
