อัชะลีกะระณีโย,
Ajalikaraṇīyo,
worthy of reverential salutation,
อะนุตตะรัง ปุญญักเขตตัง โลกัสสะ.
Anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassa.
an unsurpassed field of merit for the world.
อะยัง โข ปะนะ ถูโป ตัง ภะคะวันตัง อุททิสสะ กะโต ยาวะเทวะ ทัสสะเนนะ,
Ayaṃ kho pana thūpo taṃ bhagavantaṃ uddissa kato yāvadeva dassanena,
And this stūpa was made dedicated to that Blessed One, only so that by the sight of it
ตัง ภะคะวันตัง อะนุสสะริต๎วา,
Taṃ bhagavantaṃ anussaritvā,
one may recollect that Blessed One,
ปะสาทะสังเวคะปะฏิลาภายะ,
Pasādasaṃvegapaṭilābhāya,
and so come to confidence and to a sense of urgency.
มะยัง โข เอตะระหิ,
Mayaṃ kho etarahi,
We now, at this present time,
อิมัง วิสาขะปุณณะมีกาลัง,
Imaṃ visākhapuṇṇamīkālaṃ,
having reached this season of the Visākha full moon,
ตัสสะ ภะคะวะโต,
Tassa bhagavato,
which for that Blessed One
ชาติสัมโพธินิพพานะกาละสัมมะตัง ปัต๎วา,
Jātisambodhinibbānakālasammataṃ patvā,
is held to be the time of his birth, his awakening and his final nibbāna,
อิมัง ฐานัง สัมปัตตา,
Imaṃ ṭhānaṃ sampattā,
and having come to this place,
อิเม ทัณฑะทีปะธูปะปุปผาทิสักกาเร คะเหต๎วา,
Ime daṇḍadīpadhūpapupphādisakkāre gahetvā,
and having taken up these offerings — candles, incense, flowers and the rest —
อัตตะโน กายัง สักการุปะธานัง กะริต๎วา,
Attano kāyaṃ sakkārupadhānaṃ karitvā,
and having made our own body the bearer of the offering,
ตัสสะ ภะคะวะโต,
Tassa bhagavato,
of that Blessed One
ยะถาภุจเจ คุเณ อะนุสสะรันตา,
Yathābhucce guṇe anussarantā,
recollecting the qualities as they truly are,
อิมัง ถูปัง ติกขัตตุง ปะทักขิณัง กะริสสามะ,
Imaṃ thūpaṃ tikkhattuṃ padakkhiṇaṃ karissāma,
shall walk three times around this stūpa, keeping it on the right,
อิมัง ยะถา คะหิเตหิ สักกาเรหิ,
Imaṃ yathā gahitehi sakkārehi,
and with these offerings as they have been taken up,
ปูชัง กุรุมานา,
Pūjaṃ kurumānā,
making our offering.
สาธุ โน ภันเต ภะคะวา,
Sādhu no bhante bhagavā,
It would be well, venerable Blessed One,
สุจิระปะรินิพพุโตปิ ญาตัพเพหิ คุเณหิ,
Sucirapaṇinibbutopi ñātabbehi guṇehi,
who though long since finally gone to nibbāna are still known by your qualities,
อะตีตารัมมะณะตายะ ปัญญายะมาโน,
Atītārammaṇatāya paññāyamāno,
and are discerned as an object belonging to the past,
อิเม อัมเหหิ คะหิเต,
Ime amhehi gahite,
if you would accept these offerings,
สักกาเร ปะฏิคคัณ๎หาตุ,
Sakkāre paṭiggaṇhātu,
taken up by us —
อัมหากัง ทีฆะรัตตัง หิตายะ สุขายะ.
Amhākaṃ dīgharattaṃ hitāya sukhāya.
for our welfare and happiness for a long time to come.

วิสาขะปุณณะมายัง โย ชาโต อันติมะชาติยา
Visākhapuṇṇamāyaṃ yo jāto antimajātiyā
He who on the Visākha full moon was born into his final birth,
ปัตโต จะ อะภิสัมโพธิง อะโธปิ ปะรินิพพุโต.
Patto ca abhisambodhiṃ adhopi parinibbuto.
who reached the full awakening, and who likewise passed to final nibbāna.
โลเก อะนุตตะโร สัตถา ท๎ยาญาณัณณะวาสะโย
Loke anuttaro satthā dyāñāṇaṇṇavāsayo
In the world the unsurpassed Teacher, whose dwelling is the ocean of compassion and knowledge,
นายะโก โมกขะมัคคัส๎มิง ติวิธัตถูปะเทสะโก.
Nāyako mokkhamaggasmiṃ tividhatthūpadesako.
the guide upon the path of release, the teacher of the threefold good.
มะหาการุณิกัง พุทธัง มะยันตัง สะระณัง คะตา
Mahākāruṇikaṃ buddhaṃ mayantaṃ saraṇaṃ gatā
To that Buddha of great compassion we have gone for refuge,
อามิเสหิ จะ ปูเชนตา ธัมเม จะ ปะฏิปัตติยา.
Āmisehi ca pūjentā dhamme ca paṭipattiyā.
honouring him with offerings of things, and by practice in the Dhamma.
อิมันทานิ สุนักขัตตัง อะภิมังคะละสัมมะตัง
Imandāni sunakkhattaṃ abhimaṅgalasammataṃ
This present auspicious conjunction, held to be most blessed,
วิสาโขพูกะยัตเตนะ ปุณณะจันเทนะ ลักขิตัง.
Visākhopūkayattena puṇṇacandena lakkhitaṃ.
marked by the full moon joined with the Visākha asterism.
สัมปัตตา อะนุกาเรนะ พุทธานุสสะระณาระหัง
Sampattā anukārena buddhānussaraṇārahaṃ
Having come to it in due order, worthy of the recollection of the Buddha,
ชาติโพธินิพพานะกาละภูตัง สะยัมภุโน.
Jātibodhinibbānakālabhūtaṃ sayambhuno.
being the time of the birth, the awakening and the nibbāna of the Self-Awakened One.
