ทุลละภัง ทัสสะนัง ยัสสะ สัมพุทธัสสะ อะภิณหะโส
Dullabhaṃ dassanaṃ yassa sambuddhassa abhiṇhaso
Hard to come by, and not often, is the sight of that Fully Awakened One,
โลกัมหิ อันธะภูตัส์มิง ทุลละภุปปาทะสัตถุโน.
Lokamhi andhabhūtasmiṃ dullabhuppādasatthuno.
and hard the arising of the Teacher in a world grown blind.
สักเกสุ กะปิละวัตถุส์มิง วิหะรันตัง มะหาวะเน
Sakkesu kapilavatthusmiṃ viharantaṃ mahāvane
Dwelling among the Sakyans at Kapilavatthu, in the Great Wood,
ตันทัสสะนายะ สัมพุทธัง ภิกขุสังฆัญจะ นิมมะลัง.
Tandassanāya sambuddhaṃ bhikkhusaṅghañca nimmalaṃ.
to see that Awakened One and the spotless Sangha of bhikkhus,
ทะสะธา สังคะเณยยาสุ โลกะธาตูสุ เทวะตา
Dasadhā saṅgaṇeyyāsu lokadhātūsu devatā
from world-systems reckoned in ten ways the deities came,
อะเนกา อัปปะเมยยา วะ โมทะมานา สะมาคะตา.
Anekā appameyyā va modamānā samāgatā.
many, past measuring, gathered together and rejoicing.
ตาสัง ปิยัง มะนาปัญจะ จิตตัสโสทัคคิยาวะหัง
Tāsaṃ piyaṃ manāpañca cittassodaggiyāvahaṃ
Dear to them and agreeable, bringing elation to the mind,
ยัง โส เทเสสิ สัมพุทโธ หาสะยันโตติ เม สุตัง.
Yaṃ so desesi sambuddho hāsayantoti me sutaṃ.
was what that Awakened One taught, gladdening them — so I have heard.
เทวะกายัปปะหาสัตถัง ตัง สุตตันตัง ภะณามะ เส.
Devakāyappahāsatthaṃ taṃ suttantaṃ bhaṇāma se.
For the gladdening of the hosts of devas, let us recite that discourse.

เอวัมเม สุตัง. เอกัง สะมะยัง ภะคะวา สักเกสุ วิหะระติ กะปิละวัตถุส์มิง มะหาวะเน มะหะตา ภิกขุสังเฆนะ สัทธิง ปัญจะมัตเตหิ ภิกขุสะเตหิ สัพเพเหวะ อะระหันเตหิ. ทะสะหิ จะ โลกะธาตูหิ เทวะตา เยภุยเยนะ สันนิปะติตา โหนติ ภะคะวันตัง ทัสสะนายะ ภิกขุสังฆัญจะ. อะถะโข จะตุนนัง สุทธาวาสะกายิกานัง เทวานัง เอตะทะโหสิ. อะยัง โข ภะคะวา สักเกสุ วิหะระติ กะปิละวัตถุส์มิง มะหาวะเน มะหะตา ภิกขุสังเฆนะ สัทธิง ปัญจะมัตเตหิ ภิกขุสะเตหิ สัพเพเหวะ อะระหันเตหิ, ทะสะหิ จะ โลกะธาตูหิ เทวะตา เยภุยเยนะ สันนิปะติตา โหนติ ภะคะวันตัง ทัสสะนายะ ภิกขุสังฆัญจะ, ยันนูนะ มะยัมปิ, เยนะ ภะคะวา, เตนุปะสังกะเมยยามะ, อุปะสังกะมิต์วา ภะคะวะโต สันติเก ปัจเจกะคาถา ภาเสยยามาติ.
Evamme sutaṃ. ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmiṃ mahāvane mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi. dasahi ca lokadhātūhi devatā yebhuyyena sannipatitā honti bhagavantaṃ dassanāya bhikkhusaṅghañca. athakho catunnaṃ suddhāvāsakāyikānaṃ devānaṃ etadahosi. ayaṃ kho bhagavā sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmiṃ mahāvane mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi, dasahi ca lokadhātūhi devatā yebhuyyena sannipatitā honti bhagavantaṃ dassanāya bhikkhusaṅghañca, yannūna mayampi, yena bhagavā, tenupasaṅkameyyāma, upasaṅkamitvā bhagavato santike paccekagāthā bhāseyyāmāti.
Thus have I heard. At one time the Blessed One was dwelling among the Sakyans at Kapilavatthu, in the Great Wood, with a great Sangha of bhikkhus, five hundred of them, all arahants; and deities from ten world-systems had for the most part gathered to see the Blessed One and the Sangha of bhikkhus. Then it occurred to four deities of the Pure Abodes: the Blessed One is dwelling among the Sakyans at Kapilavatthu, and deities have gathered to see him; let us go to him, and each speak a verse in his presence.
อะถะโข ตา เทวะตา, เสยยะถาปิ นามะ พะละวา ปุริโส สัมมิญชิตัง วา พาหัง ปะสาเรยยะ, ปะสาริตัง วา พาหัง สัมมิญเชยยะ, เอวะเมวะ สุทธาวาเสสุ เทเวสุ อันตะระหิตา ภะคะวะโต ปุระโต ปาตุระหังสุ. อะถะโข ตา เทวะตา ภะคะวันตัง อะภิวาเทต์วา เอกะมันตัง อัฏฐังสุ, เอกะมันตัง ฐิตา โข เอกา เทวะตา ภะคะวะโต สันติเก อิมัง คาถัง อะภาสิ,
Athakho tā devatā, seyyathāpi nāma balavā puriso sammiñjitaṃ vā bāhaṃ pasāreyya, pasāritaṃ vā bāhaṃ sammiñjeyya, evameva suddhāvāsesu devesu antarahitā bhagavato purato pāturahaṃsu. athakho tā devatā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhaṃsu, ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho ekā devatā bhagavato santike imaṃ gāthaṃ abhāsi,
Then those deities, as swiftly as a strong man might extend his flexed arm or flex his extended arm, vanished from among the deities of the Pure Abodes and appeared before the Blessed One. They paid homage to him and stood to one side; and standing there, one deity spoke this verse in his presence:
