Iddhimanto jutimanto vaṇṇavanto yasassino
possessed of power, of radiance, of beauty and of renown,
โมทะมานา อะภิกกามุง ภิกขูนัง สะมิติง วะนัง.
Modamānā abhikkāmuṃ bhikkhūnaṃ samitiṃ vanaṃ.
came rejoicing to the wood, to the assembly of bhikkhus.
เวสสามิตตา ปัญจะสะตา ยักขา นานัตตะวัณณิโน
Vessāmittā pañcasatā yakkhā nānattavaṇṇino
Five hundred Vessāmitta yakkhas, of varied hues,
อิทธิมันโต ชุติมันโต วัณณะวันโต ยะสัสสิโน
Iddhimanto jutimanto vaṇṇavanto yasassino
possessed of power, of radiance, of beauty and of renown,
โมทะมานา อะภิกกามุง ภิกขูนัง สะมิติง วะนัง.
Modamānā abhikkāmuṃ bhikkhūnaṃ samitiṃ vanaṃ.
came rejoicing to the wood, to the assembly of bhikkhus.
กุมภิโร ราชะคะหิโก เวปุลลัสสะ นิเวสะนัง
Kumbhiro rājagahiko vepullassa nivesanaṃ
Kumbhīra of Rājagaha — his dwelling is Mount Vepulla —
ภิยโย นัง สะตะสะหัสสัง ยักขานัง ปะยิรุปาสะติ.
Bhiyyo naṃ satasahassaṃ yakkhānaṃ payirupāsati.
more than a hundred thousand yakkhas attend upon him —
กุมภิโร ราชะคะหิโก โสปาคะ สะมิติง วะนัง.
Kumbhiro rājagahiko sopāga samitiṃ vanaṃ.
Kumbhīra of Rājagaha, he too came to the wood, to the assembly.
ปุริมัญจะ ทิสัง ราชา ธะตะรัฏโฐ ปะสาสะติ
Purimañca disaṃ rājā dhataraṭṭho pasāsati
And the king who rules the eastern quarter is Dhataraṭṭha,
คันธัพพานัง อาธิปะติ มะหาราชา ยะสัสสิ โส.
Gandhabbānaṃ ādhipati mahārājā yasassi so.
lord of the gandhabbas, a great king of renown.
ปุตตาปิ ตัสสะ พะหะโว อินทะนามา มะหัพพะลา
Puttāpi tassa bahavo indanāmā mahabbalā
His sons too are many, all named Inda, of great strength,
