กัจจิ นุ โขหัง สุญญาคาเร อะภิระมามีติ ปัพพะชิเตนะ อะภิณ๎หัง ปัจจะเวกขิตัพพัง.

kacci nu khohaṃ suññāgāre abhiramāmīti pabbajitena abhiṇhaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ.

'Do I delight in empty dwellings?': this should be reflected on again and again by one who has gone forth.

อัตถิ นุ โข เม อุตตะริมะนุสสะธัมมา อะละมะริยะญาณะทัสสะนะวิเสโส, อะธิคะโต โสหัง ปัจฉิเม กาเล สะพ๎รัห๎มะจารีหิ ปุฏโฐ นะ มังกุ ภะวิสสามีติ, ปัพพะชิเตนะ อะภิณ๎หัง ปัจจะเวกขิตัพพัง.

atthi nu kho me uttarimanussadhammā alamariyañāṇadassanaviseso, adhigato sohaṃ pacchime kāle sabrahmacārīhi puṭṭho na maṅku bhavissāmīti, pabbajitena abhiṇhaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ.

'Have I attained any superior human state, any distinction of knowledge and vision worthy of the noble ones, such that in my last days, when questioned by my companions in the holy life, I shall not be embarrassed?': this should be reflected on again and again by one who has gone forth.

อิเม โข ภิกขะเว ทะสะ ธัมมา, ปัพพะชิเตนะ อะภิณ๎หัง ปัจจะเวกขิตัพพาติ, อิทะมะโวจะ ภะคะวา, อัตตะมะนา เต ภิกขู ภะคะวะโต ภาสิตัง อะภินันทุนติ.

ime kho bhikkhave dasa dhammā, pabbajitena abhiṇhaṃ paccavekkhitabbāti, idamavoca bhagavā, attamanā te bhikkhū bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinandunti.

These, bhikkhus, are the ten things that one who has gone forth should reflect on again and again. This is what the Blessed One said. Gladdened, those bhikkhus delighted in the Blessed One's words.

ยาวะตา สัตตา อะปะทา วา ท๎วิปะทา วา จะตุปปะทา วา พะหุปปะทา วา, รูปิโน วา อะรูปิโน วา, สัญญิโน วา อะสัญญิโน วา, เนวะสัญญีนาสัญญิโน วา, ตะถาคะโต เตสัง อัคคะมักขายะติ อะระหัง สัมมาสัมพุทโธ, เย โข พุทเธ ปะสันนา อัคเค เต ปะสันนา, อัคเค โข ปะนะ ปะสันนานัง อัคโค วิปาโก.

yāvatā sattā apadā vā dvipadā vā catuppadā vā bahuppadā vā, rūpino vā arūpino vā, saññino vā asaññino vā, nevasaññīnāsaññino vā, tathāgato tesaṃ aggamakkhāyati arahaṃ sammāsambuddho, ye kho buddhe pasannā agge te pasannā, agge kho pana pasannānaṃ aggo vipāko.

As far as there are beings — footless, two-footed, four-footed or many-footed, with form or formless, percipient or non-percipient or neither-percipient-nor-non-percipient — the Tathagata, the Worthy One, the Perfectly Self-Awakened One, is declared the foremost of them. Those who have confidence in the Buddha have confidence in the foremost, and for those with confidence in the foremost the result is foremost.

ยังกิญจิ วิตตัง อิธะ วา หุรัง วา สัคเคสุ วา ยัง ระตะนัง ปะณีตัง นะ โน สะมัง อัตถิ ตะถาคะเตนะ อิทัมปิ พุทเธ ระตะนัง ปะณีตัง เอเตนะ สัจเจนะ สุวัตถิ โหตุ.

yaṅkiñci vittaṃ idha vā huraṃ vā saggesu vā yaṃ ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ na no samaṃ atthi tathāgatena idampi buddhe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

Whatever wealth there is here or beyond, or whatever excellent treasure is in the heavens, there is none equal to the Tathagata. This too is an excellent treasure in the Buddha. By this truth may there be well-being.

ยาวะตา ธัมมา สังขะตา วา อะสังขะตา วา, วิราโค เตสัง อัคคะมักขายะติ, ยะทิทัง มะทะนิมมะทะโน ปิปาสะวินะโย อาละยะสะมุคฆาโต วัฏฏูปัจเฉโท ตัณหักขะโย วิราโค นิโรโธ นิพพานัง, เย โข วิราคะธัมเม ปะสันนา, อัคเค เต ปะสันนา, อัคเค โข ปะนะ ปะสันนานัง อัคโค วิปาโก.

yāvatā dhammā saṅkhatā vā asaṅkhatā vā, virāgo tesaṃ aggamakkhāyati, yadidaṃ madanimmadano pipāsavinayo ālayasamugghāto vaṭṭūpacchedo taṇhakkhayo virāgo nirodho nibbānaṃ, ye kho virāgadhamme pasannā, agge te pasannā, agge kho pana pasannānaṃ aggo vipāko.

As far as there are things conditioned or unconditioned, dispassion is declared the foremost of them — that is, the crushing of pride, the removal of thirst, the uprooting of clinging, the cutting off of the round, the destruction of craving, dispassion, cessation, nibbana. Those who have confidence in the Dhamma of dispassion have confidence in the foremost, and for those with confidence in the foremost the result is foremost.
