อุชุจิตตัง สะติปัญญา
Ujucittaṃ satipaññā
มีจิตตรง และสติ ทั้งปัญญา อันประเสริฐ
An upright mind, mindfulness, and excellent wisdom,
สัลเลโข วิริยัมหินา
Sallekho viriyamhinā
พร้อมทั้ง ความเพียรเลิศ เป็นเครื่องขูด กิเลสหาย
together with surpassing effort, scouring the defilements away —
มารา ละภันตุ โนกาสัง
Mārā labhantu nokāsaṃ
โอกาสอย่าพึงมี แก่หมู่มาร สิ้นทั้งหลาย
may the hosts of Māra find no opening at all,
กาตุญจะ วิริเยสุ เม
Kātuñca viriyesu me
เป็นช่องประทุษร้าย ทำลายล้าง ความเพียรจม
no chink through which to do harm and sink my effort.
พุทธาทิปะวะโร นาโถ
Buddhādipavaro nātho
พระพุทธผู้บวรนาถ
The Buddha, the excellent refuge;
ธัมโม นาโถ วะรุตตะโม
Dhammo nātho varuttamo
พระธรรมที่พึ่งอุดม
the Dhamma, the supreme refuge;
นาโถ ปัจเจกะพุทโธ จะ
Nātho paccekabuddho ca
พระปัจเจกพุทธสม-
the Paccekabuddhas as refuge too,
สังโฆ นาโถตตะโร มะมัง
Saṅgho nāthottaro mamaṃ
ทบพระสงฆ์ ที่พึ่งผยอง
and the Saṅgha, the refuge above all, are mine.
เตโสตตะมานุภาเวนะ
Tesottamānubhāvena
ด้วยอานุภาพนั้น
By the power of those supreme ones,
มาโรกาสัง ละภันตุ มา
Mārokāsaṃ labhantu mā
ขอหมู่มารอย่าได้ช่อง
may Māra find no opening;
ทะสะปุญญานุภาเวนะ
Dasapuññānubhāvena
ด้วยเดชบุญทั้งสิบป้อง
by the power of the ten kinds of merit,
มาโรกาสัง ละภันตุ มา ฯ
Mārokāsaṃ labhantu mā
อย่าเปิดโอกาสแก่มาร เทอญ ฯ
let no opening be given to Māra at all.
