อัคคะโต เว ปะสันนานัง อัคคัง ธัมมัง วิชานะตัง

Aggato ve pasannānaṃ aggaṃ dhammaṃ vijānataṃ

For those confident in the highest, knowing the highest Dhamma,

อัคเค พุทเธ ปะสันนานัง ทักขิเณยเย อะนุตตะเร

Agge buddhe pasannānaṃ dakkhiṇeyye anuttare

confident in the highest, the Buddha, unsurpassed and worthy of offerings;

อัคเค ธัมเม ปะสันนานัง วิราคูปะสะเม สุเข

Agge dhamme pasannānaṃ virāgūpasame sukhe

confident in the highest Dhamma, the bliss of dispassion and peace;

อัคเค สังเฆ ปะสันนานัง ปุญญักเขตเต อะนุตตะเร

Agge saṅghe pasannānaṃ puññakkhette anuttare

confident in the highest Saṅgha, the unsurpassed field of merit —

อัคคัส๎มิง ทานัง ทะทะตัง อัคคัง ปุญญัง ปะวัฑฒะติ

Aggasmiṃ dānaṃ dadataṃ aggaṃ puññaṃ pavaḍḍhati

for those giving a gift to the highest, the highest merit grows:

อัคคัง อายุ จะ วัณโณ จะ ยะโส กิตติ สุขัง พะลัง

Aggaṃ āyu ca vaṇṇo ca yaso kitti sukhaṃ balaṃ

the highest life span and beauty, fame, repute, happiness and strength.

อัคคัสสะ ทาตา เมธาวี อัคคะธัมมะสะมาหิโต

Aggassa dātā medhāvī aggadhammasamāhito

The wise giver to the highest, composed in the highest Dhamma,

เทวะภูโต มะนุสโส วา อัคคัปปัตโต ปะโมทะตีติ.

Devabhūto manusso vā aggappatto pamodatīti.

whether become a deva or a human, rejoices, having attained the highest.

อะทาสิ เม อะกาสิ เม ญาติมิตตา สะขา จะ เม

Adāsi me akāsi me ñātimittā sakhā ca me

'He gave to me, he acted for me; he was my kinsman, friend and companion' —

เปตานัง ทักขิณัง ทัชชา ปุพเพ กะตะมะนุสสะรัง

Petānaṃ dakkhiṇaṃ dajjā pubbe katamanussaraṃ

recalling what was done before, one should give a gift for the departed.

นะ หิ รุณณัง วา โสโก วา ยา วัญญา ปะริเทวะนา

Na hi ruṇṇaṃ vā soko vā yā vaññā paridevanā

For weeping, or sorrow, or any other lamentation,

นะ ตัง เปตานะมัตถายะ เอวัง ติฏฐันติ ญาตะโย

Na taṃ petānamatthāya evaṃ tiṭṭhanti ñātayo

is of no use to the departed, though the relatives go on so.

อะยัญจะ โข ทักขิณา ทินนา สังฆัม๎หิ สุปะติฏฐิตา

Ayañca kho dakkhiṇā dinnā saṅghamhi supatiṭṭhitā

But this gift, given and well established in the Saṅgha,

ทีฆะรัตตัง หิตายัสสะ ฐานะโส อุปะกัปปะติ

Dīgharattaṃ hitāyassa ṭhānaso upakappati

serves for their long-lasting welfare, and at once.

โส ญาติธัมโม จะ อะยัง นิทัสสิโต

So ñātidhammo ca ayaṃ nidassito

This duty to kin has now been shown,

เปตานะ ปูชา จะ กะตา อุฬารา

Petāna pūjā ca katā uḷārā

and lofty honour has been done to the departed;

พะลัญจะ ภิกขูนะมะนุปปะทินนัง

Balañca bhikkhūnamanuppadinnaṃ

strength has been given to the bhikkhus too,

ตุมเหหิ ปุญญัง ปะสุตัง อะนัปปะกันติ.

Tumhehi puññaṃ pasutaṃ anappakanti.

and no small merit has been gathered by you.

อายุโท พะละโท ธีโร วัณณะโท ปะฏิภาณะโท

Āyudo balado dhīro vaṇṇado paṭibhāṇado

The steadfast giver of life, of strength, of beauty, of ready wit,

สุขัสสะ ทาตา เมธาวี สุขัง โส อะธิคัจฉะติ

Sukhassa dātā medhāvī sukhaṃ so adhigacchati

the wise giver of happiness, himself attains happiness.

อายุง ทัต๎วา พะลัง วัณณัง สุขัญจะ ปะฏิภาณะโท

Āyuṃ datvā balaṃ vaṇṇaṃ sukhañca paṭibhāṇado

Having given life, strength, beauty, happiness and ready wit,

ทีฆายุ ยะสะวา โหติ ยัตถะ ยัตถูปะปัชชะตีติ.

Dīghāyu yasavā hoti yattha yatthūpapajjatīti.

he is long-lived and renowned wherever he is reborn.
