ครั้นสวดสอนซ้อมแล้ว ท่านกลับเข้ามาสวดขอเรียกผู้ขออุปสมบทเข้ามา จากนั้นผู้ขออุปสมบทพึงเข้ามาในสังฆสันนิบาต กราบลงตรงหน้าพระอุปัชฌายะ ๓ ครั้ง แล้วนั่งคุกเข่าประนมมือ เปล่งวาจาขออุปสมบทว่าดังนี้
When the rehearsal has been chanted, he comes back in and chants the request to call the candidate in. The candidate then enters the assembly of the Saṅgha, bows three times before the preceptor, kneels with palms together, and pronounces the request for ordination thus:
สังฆัมภันเต, อุปะสัมปะทัง ยาจามิ, อุลลุมปะตุ มัง ภันเต, สังโฆ อะนุกัมปัง อุปาทายะ.
Saṅghambhante, upasampadaṃ yācāmi, ullumpatu maṃ bhante, saṅgho anukampaṃ upādāya.
Venerable sirs, I ask the Saṅgha for ordination. May the Saṅgha raise me up out of compassion.
