ตะติยัมปาหัง ภันเต, สุจิระปะรินิพพุตัมปิ, ตัง ภะคะวันตัง สะระณัง คัจฉามิ, ธัมมัญจะ ภิกขุสังฆัญจะ, ละเภยยาหัง ภันเต, ตัสสะ ภะคะวะโต, ธัมมะวินะเย ปัพพัชชัง, ละเภยยัง อุปะสัมปะทัง.
Tatiyampāhaṃ bhante, suciraparinibbutampi, taṃ bhagavantaṃ saraṇaṃ gacchāmi, dhammañca bhikkhusaṅghañca, labheyyāhaṃ bhante, tassa bhagavato, dhammavinaye pabbajjaṃ, labheyyaṃ upasampadaṃ.
For a third time…
อะหัง ภันเต, ปัพพัชชัง ยาจามิ, อิมานิ กาสายานิ วัตถานิ คะเหต๎วา, ปัพพาเชถะ มัง ภันเต, อะนุกัมปัง อุปาทายะ.
Ahaṃ bhante, pabbajjaṃ yācāmi, imāni kāsāyāni vatthāni gahetvā, pabbājetha maṃ bhante, anukampaṃ upādāya.
Venerable sir, I ask for the going forth. Having taken these ochre cloths, give me the going forth out of compassion.
ทุติยัมปิ อะหัง ภันเต, ปัพพัชชัง ยาจามิ, อิมานิ กาสายานิ วัตถานิ คะเหต๎วา, ปัพพาเชถะ มัง ภันเต, อะนุกัมปัง อุปาทายะ.
Dutiyampi ahaṃ bhante, pabbajjaṃ yācāmi, imāni kāsāyāni vatthāni gahetvā, pabbājetha maṃ bhante, anukampaṃ upādāya.
For a second time…

ถ้าบวชเป็นสามเณร ยกคำว่า ละเภยยัง อุปะสัมปะทัง ออกเสีย
If ordaining as a novice, leave out the words labheyyaṃ upasampadaṃ.
ในลำดับนั้น พระอุปัชฌายะรับเอาผ้าไตรจากผู้มุ่งบรรพชาวางไว้ตรงหน้าตัก แล้วกล่าวสอนถึงพระรัตนตรัยเป็นต้น และบอก ตะจะปัญจะกะกัมมัฏฐาน ให้ว่าตามทีละบท โดยอนุโลมและปฏิโลม ดังนี้
Then the preceptor takes the robes from the candidate and places them on his lap, gives instruction on the Triple Gem and so on, and teaches the five-part meditation on the skin, having him repeat it phrase by phrase, forwards and in reverse, thus:
เกสา โลมา นะขา ทันตา ตะโจ. (อนุโลม)
Kesā lomā nakhā dantā taco. …
Hair of the head, hair of the body, nails, teeth, skin. (forwards)
ตะโจ ทันตา นะขา โลมา เกสา. (ปฏิโลม)
Taco dantā nakhā lomā kesā. …
Skin, teeth, nails, hair of the body, hair of the head. (in reverse)
ครั้นสอนแล้วพระอุปัชฌายะชักอังสะออกจากไตรสวมให้แล้ว สั่งให้ออกไปครองผ้าครบไตรจีวรตามระเบียบ ครั้นเสร็จแล้วเข้าไปหาพระอาจารย์รับเครื่องสักการะถวายท่านแล้วกราบ 3 ครั้ง นั่งคุกเข่าประนมมือเปล่งวาจาขอสรณะและศีลดังนี้
Having taught this, the preceptor draws the shoulder-cloth from the set and puts it on him, and tells him to go out and put on the full three robes properly. When that is done he goes to the teacher, receives the offerings and presents them, bows three times, then kneels with palms together and asks for the refuges and precepts thus:
อะหัง ภันเต, สะระณะสีลัง ยาจามิ,
Ahaṃ bhante, saraṇasīlaṃ yācāmi,
Venerable sir, I ask for the refuges and the precepts.
ทุติยัมปิ อะหัง ภันเต, สะระณะสีลัง ยาจามิ,
Dutiyampi ahaṃ bhante, saraṇasīlaṃ yācāmi,
For a second time, Venerable sir, I ask for the refuges and the precepts.
ตะติยัมปิ อะหัง ภันเต, สะระณะสีลัง ยาจามิ,
Tatiyampi ahaṃ bhante, saraṇasīlaṃ yācāmi,
For a third time, Venerable sir, I ask for the refuges and the precepts.
ลำดับนั้น พระอาจารย์กล่าวคำนมัสการนำให้ผู้มุ่งบรรพชาว่าตามไปดังนี้
Then the teacher pronounces the homage, leading the candidate to repeat it thus:
นะโม ตัสสะ ภะคะวะโต อะระหะโต สัมมาสัมพุทธัสสะ. (ว่า 3 ครั้ง)
Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa. …
Homage to the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the Fully Enlightened One. (say 3 times)
