ในลำดับนั้น สามเณรพึงรับบาตรอุ้มเข้าไปหาพระอุปัชฌายะในสังฆสันนิบาต วางบาตรไว้ข้างตัวด้านซ้าย รับเครื่องสักการะถวายท่านแล้วกราบ 3 ครั้ง นั่งคุกเข่าประนมมือกล่าวคำขอนิสัย ว่าดังนี้

Then the novice should take the bowl, carry it to the preceptor in the assembly of the Saṅgha, set the bowl down at his left side, receive the offerings and present them, bow three times, then kneel with palms together and make the request for dependence thus:

พระอุปัชฌายะกล่าวว่า ปะฏิรูปัง, โอปายิกัง, ปาสาทิเกนะ สัมปาเทหิ บทใดบทหนึ่งพึงรับว่า สาธุ ภันเต ทุกบทไป แต่นั้น สามเณรพึงว่าต่อไปดังนี้

The preceptor says paṭirūpaṃ, or opāyikaṃ, or pāsādikena sampādehi — to whichever he says, the novice should answer sādhu bhante each time. Then the novice continues thus:

ลำดับนั้น พระอุปัชฌายะแนะนำสามเณรไปตามระเบียบแล้ว พระอาจารย์ผู้เป็นกรรมวาจาเอาบาตรมีสายโยกคล้องตัวผู้มุ่งอุปสมบท แล้วบอกบาตรและจีวร ผู้มุ่งอุปสมบทพึงรับว่า อามะ ภันเต 4 ครั้ง ดังนี้

Then, the preceptor having instructed the novice according to procedure, the kammavācā teacher hangs the bowl with its strap on the candidate and declares the bowl and robes. The candidate should answer āma bhante four times, thus:

ต่อจากนั้น พระอาจารย์ท่านบอกให้ออกไปข้างนอก ว่า คัจฉะ อะมุมหิ โอกาเส ติฏฐาหิ พึงถอยออกลุกขึ้นเดินไปยืนอยู่ในที่ที่กำหนดไว้ พระอาจารย์ท่านสวดสมมติตนเป็นผู้สอนซ้อม แล้วออกไปสวดถามอันตรายิกธรรม พึงรับว่า นัตถิ ภันเต 5 ครั้ง อามะ ภันเต 8 ครั้ง ดังนี้

Then the teacher tells him to go outside, saying gaccha amumhi okāse tiṭṭhāhi. He should withdraw, rise, walk out and stand in the appointed place. The teacher chants his own appointment as the one who rehearses, then goes out and chants the questions on the obstructing conditions. He should answer natthi bhante five times and āma bhante eight times, thus:
