ครั้นสวดสอนซ้อมแล้ว ท่านกลับเข้ามาสวดขอเรียกผู้ขออุปสมบทเข้ามา จากนั้นผู้ขออุปสมบทพึงเข้ามาในสังฆสันนิบาต กราบลงตรงหน้าพระอุปัชฌายะ 3 ครั้ง แล้วนั่งคุกเข่าประนมมือ เปล่งวาจาขออุปสมบทว่าดังนี้
When the rehearsal has been chanted, he comes back in and chants the request to call the candidate in. The candidate should then enter the assembly of the Saṅgha, bow three times before the preceptor, kneel with palms together, and pronounce the request for ordination thus:
สังฆัมภันเต, อุปะสัมปะทัง ยาจามิ, อุลลุมปะตุ มัง ภันเต, สังโฆ อะนุกัมปัง อุปาทายะ.
Saṅghambhante, upasampadaṃ yācāmi, ullumpatu maṃ bhante, saṅgho anukampaṃ upādāya.
Venerable sirs, I ask the Saṅgha for ordination. May the Saṅgha raise me up out of compassion.
ทุติยัมปิ ภันเต, สังฆัง อุปะสัมปะทัง ยาจามิ, อุลลุมปะตุ มัง ภันเต, สังโฆ อะนุกัมปัง อุปาทายะ.
Dutiyampi bhante, saṅghaṃ upasampadaṃ yācāmi, ullumpatu maṃ bhante, saṅgho anukampaṃ upādāya.
