สุณาตุ เม ภันเต สังโฆ,

Suṇātu me bhante saṅgho,

Let the Saṅgha, venerable sirs, hear me. Obhāsa, candidate for ordination under the venerable Sobhaṇa, has been instructed by me. If the Saṅgha is ready, let Obhāsa come forward.

Now, friend (venerable sir), this novice named Obhāsa is my candidate, seeking ordination and asking it of the Saṅgha. I request this whole Saṅgha: please, friend, let this whole Saṅgha question this novice named Obhāsa on the obstructing conditions, know his readiness, and ordain him by a formal act with a motion and three announcements, unshakeable and befitting the occasion. Let the act be concluded.
