ปัญจักขันธา

pañcakkhandhā

The five aggregates:

รูปักขันโธ,

rūpakkhandho,

the aggregate of form,

เวทะนากขันโธ,

vedanākkhandho,

the aggregate of feeling,

สัญญากขันโธ,

saññākkhandho,

the aggregate of perception,

สังขารักขันโธ,

saṅkhārakkhandho,

the aggregate of formations,

วิญญาณักขันโธ.

viññāṇakkhandho.

the aggregate of consciousness.

ตัตถะ กะตะโม รูปักขันโธ

tattha katamo rūpakkhandho

Therein, which is the aggregate of form?

ยังกิญจิ รูปัง อะตีตานาคะตะปัจจุปปันนัง, อัชฌัตตัง วา พะหิทธา วา, โอฬาริกัง วา สุขุมัง วา, หีนัง วา ปะณีตัง วา, ยัง ทูเร วา สันติเก วา,

yaṅkiñci rūpaṃ atītānāgatapaccuppannaṃ, ajjhattaṃ vā bahiddhā vā, oḷārikaṃ vā sukhumaṃ vā, hīnaṃ vā paṇītaṃ vā, yaṃ dūre vā santike vā,

Whatever form there is, past, future or present, internal or external, gross or subtle, inferior or superior, far or near —

ตะเทกัชฌัง อะภิสัญญูหิต๎วา อะภิสังขิปิต๎วา อะยัง วุจจะติ รูปักขันโธ.

tadekajjhaṃ abhisaññūhitvā abhisaṅkhipitvā ayaṃ vuccati rūpakkhandho.

gathering all this together and comprising it as one, this is called the aggregate of form.

สังคะโห อะสังคะโห.

saṅgaho asaṅgaho.

สังคะหิเตนะ อะสังคะหิตัง,

saṅgahitena asaṅgahitaṃ,

Not included by what is included,

อะสังคะหิเตนะ สังคะหิตัง,

the designation of truths,

อินท๎ริยะปัญญัตติ,

indriyapaññatti,

the designation of faculties,

ปุคคะละปัญญัตติ,

puggalapaññatti,

the designation of persons.

กิตตาวะตา ปุคคะลานัง ปุคคะละปัญญัตติ,

kittāvatā puggalānaṃ puggalapaññatti,

To what extent is there a designation of persons?

สะมะยะวิมุตโต อะสะมะยะวิมุตโต,

samayavimutto asamayavimutto,

One liberated on occasion, one not liberated on occasion,

กุปปะธัมโม, อะกุปปะธัมโม,

kuppadhammo, akuppadhammo,

one liable to fall away, one not liable to fall away,

ปะริหานะธัมโม อะปะริหานะธัมโม,

parihānadhammo aparihānadhammo,

one subject to decline, one not subject to decline,

เจตะนาภัพโพ อะนุรักขะนาภัพโพ,

cetanābhabbo anurakkhaṇābhabbo,

one capable through volition, one capable through guarding,

ปุถุชชะโน โคต๎ระภู,

puthujjano gotrabhū,

the ordinary person, one of the change of lineage,

ภะยูปะระโต อะภะยูปะระโต.

bhayūparato abhayūparato.

one who abstains through fear, one who abstains not through fear.

ภัพพาคะมะโน อะภัพพาคะมะโน.

bhabbāgamano abhabbāgamano.

One capable of arriving, one incapable of arriving.

นิยะโต อะนิยะโต,

niyato aniyato,

One fixed in destiny, one not fixed in destiny,

ปะฏิปันนะโก ผะเลฏฐิโต,

paṭipannako phaleṭṭhito,

one practising the way, one established in the fruit,

อะระหา อะระหัตตายะ ปะฏิปันโน.

arahā arahattāya paṭipanno.

the Worthy One, and one practising for Worthiness.

ปุคคะโล อุปะลัพภะติ, สัจฉิกัตถะปะระมัตเถนาติ อามันตา.

puggalo upalabbhati, sacchikatthaparamatthenāti āmantā.

"Is the person apprehended as a real and ultimate fact?" "Yes."

โย สัจฉิกัตโถ ปะระมัตโถ, ตะโต โส ปุคคะโล อุปะลัพภะติ, สัจฉิกัตถะปะระมัตเถนาติ.

yo sacchikattho paramattho, tato so puggalo upalabbhati, sacchikatthaparamatthenāti.

"Is the person apprehended in the same way as that which is a real and ultimate fact?"

นะ เหวัง วัตตัพเพ.

na hevaṃ vattabbe.

"It should not be said so."
