ājānāhi niggahaṃ, hañci puggalo upalabbhati, sacchikatthaparamatthena tena, vata re vattabbe.

"Acknowledge the refutation. If the person is apprehended as a real and ultimate fact, then indeed it should be said,

โย สัจฉิกัตโถ ปะระมัตโถ, ตะโต โส ปุคคะโล อุปะลัพภะติ สัจฉิกัตถะปะระมัตเถนาติ มิจฉา.

yo sacchikattho paramattho, tato so puggalo upalabbhati sacchikatthaparamatthenāti micchā.

that the person is apprehended in the same way as that which is a real and ultimate fact. That is wrong."

เย เกจิ กุสะลา ธัมมา, สัพเพ เต กุสะละมูลา.

ye keci kusalā dhammā, sabbe te kusalamūlā.

Whatever states are wholesome, all of them have wholesome roots.

เย วา ปะนะ กุสะละมูลา, สัพเพ เต ธัมมา กุสะลา.

ye vā pana kusalamūlā, sabbe te dhammā kusalā.

Or whatever have wholesome roots, all those states are wholesome.

เย เกจิ กุสะลา ธัมมา, สัพเพ เต กุสะละมูเลนะ เอกะมูลา.

ye keci kusalā dhammā, sabbe te kusalamūlena ekamūlā.

Whatever states are wholesome, all of them share one root with the wholesome root.

เย วา ปะนะ กุสะละมูเลนะ เอกะมูลา, สัพเพ เต ธัมมา กุสะลา.

ye vā pana kusalamūlena ekamūlā, sabbe te dhammā kusalā.

Or whatever share one root with the wholesome root, all those states are wholesome.

Wholesome states, unwholesome states, indeterminate states.

สุขายะ เวทะนายะ สัมปะยุตตา ธัมมา, ทุกขายะ เวทะนายะ สัมปะยุตตา ธัมมา, อะทุกขะมะสุขายะ เวทะนายะ สัมปะยุตตา ธัมมา.

sukhāya vedanāya sampayuttā dhammā, dukkhāya vedanāya sampayuttā dhammā, adukkhamasukhāya vedanāya sampayuttā dhammā.

States associated with pleasant feeling, states associated with painful feeling, states associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling.

วิปากา ธัมมา, วิปากะธัมมะธัมมา, เนวะวิปากะนะวิปากะธัมมะธัมมา.

vipākā dhammā, vipākadhammadhammā, nevavipākanavipākadhammadhammā.

States that are results, states whose nature is to give results, states that are neither results nor of a nature to give results.
