โอติณณาม๎หะ ชาติยา ชะรามะระเณนะ,
Otiṇṇāmha jātiyā jarāmaraṇena,
are beset by birth, by ageing and death,
โสเกหิ ปะริเทเวหิ ทุกเขหิ โทมะนัสเสหิ อุปายาเสหิ,
Sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi upāyāsehi,
by sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair,
ทุกโขติณณา ทุกขะปะเรตา,
Dukkhotiṇṇā dukkhaparetā,
beset by suffering, overcome by suffering.
อัปเปวะ นามิมัสสะ เกวะลัสสะ ทุกขักขันธัสสะ อันตะกิริยา ปัญญาเยถาติ,
Appeva nāmimassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriyā paññāyethāti,
Perhaps an end to this whole mass of suffering might be found.
จิระปะรินิพพุตัมปิ ตัง ภะคะวันตัง อุททิสสะ อะระหันตัง สัมมาสัมพุทธัง,
Cira-parinibbutampi taṃ bhagavantaṃ uddissa arahantaṃ sammāsambuddhaṃ,
Dedicated to that Blessed One, worthy and perfectly enlightened, though long since attained to final Nibbāna,
สัทธา อะคารัส๎มา อะนะคาริยัง ปัพพะชิตา,
Saddhā agārasmā anagāriyaṃ pabbajitā,
we have gone forth in faith from home into homelessness,
ตัส๎มิง ภะคะวะติ พ๎รัห๎มะจะริยัง จะรามะ,
Tasmiṃ bhagavati brahmacariyaṃ carāma,
and live the holy life under that Blessed One,
ภิกขูนัง สิกขาสาชีวะสะมาปันนา,
Bhikkhūnaṃ sikkhāsājīva-samāpannā,
having taken up the training and livelihood of the bhikkhus.
ตัง โน พ๎รัห๎มะจะริยัง,
Taṃ no brahmacariyaṃ,
May this holy life of ours
อิมัสสะ เกวะลัสสะ ทุกขักขันธัสสะ อันตะกิริยายะ สังวัตตะตูติ.
Imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriyāya saṃvattatūti.

ต่อไปนี้สวด เสขิยวัตร เสขิยวัตรจัดเป็น 4 หมวด คือ หมวดที่ 1 เรียกว่า จีวะระปะฏิสังยุต มี 26 สิกขาบท หมวดที่ 2 เรียกว่า ปิณฑะปาตะปะฏิสังยุต มี 30 สิกขาบท หมวดที่ 3 เรียกว่า ธัมมะเทสะนาปะฏิสังยุต มี 16 สิกขาบท หมวดที่ 4 เรียกว่า ปะกิณณะกะ มี 3 สิกขาบท หมวดที่ 1 ที่ 2 สวดวันละหมวด หมวดที่ 3 ที่ 4 มีน้อยสิกขาบท สวดรวมกันในวันเดียว ตกลงสวด 3 วัน เวียนมาขึ้นหมวดต้นครั้งหนึ่ง บทสวดจักเรียงไว้ต่อท้ายทำวัตรเช้า ในที่นี้พึงทราบระเบียบดังต่อไปนี้ Next the Sekhiyavatta are chanted. They are arranged in four sections: the first, called Cīvara-paṭisaṃyutta, has 26 training rules; the second, Piṇḍapāta-paṭisaṃyutta, has 30; the third, Dhammadesanā-paṭisaṃyutta, has 16; the fourth, Pakiṇṇaka, has 3. The first and second are chanted one section a day; the third and fourth, having few rules, are chanted together on one day. So they are chanted over three days and then come round to the first section again. The passages are set out after the morning service; here the order is to be understood as follows.
เมื่อจะสวดเสขิยวัตรหมวดที่ 1 ประธานกล่าวเชิญว่า When the first section of the Sekhiyavatta is to be chanted, the leader gives the invitation:
หันทะ มะยัง ฉัพพีสะติ สารุปปาสิกขาโย ภะณามะ เส.
รองประธานขึ้นต้นบทว่า ปะริมัณฑะลัง นอกนั้นรับต่อพร้อมกันไปหยุดตามจุดลูกน้ำ The deputy leader begins the line parimaṇḍalaṃ, and the rest join together, pausing at the commas.
เมื่อจะสวดเสขิยวัตรหมวดที่ 2 ประธานกล่าวเชิญว่า When the second section is to be chanted, the leader gives the invitation:
หันทะ มะยัง สะมะติงสะ โภชะนะปะฏิสังยุตตาสิกขาโย ภะณามะ เส.
รองประธานขึ้นต้นบทว่า สักกัจจัง นอกนั้นรับต่อพร้อมกันไป หยุดตามจุดลูกน้ำ The deputy leader begins the line sakkaccaṃ, and the rest join together, pausing at the commas.
เมื่อจะสวดเสขิยวัตร หมวดที่ 3-4 ควบกัน ประธานกล่าวเชิญว่า When the third and fourth sections are to be chanted together, the leader gives the invitation:
หันทะ มะยัง โสฬะสะ ธัมมะเทสะนาปะฏิสังยุตตาสิกขาโย เจวะ ติสโส ปะกิณณะกาสิกขาโย จะ ภะณามะ เส.
รองประธานขึ้นต้นบทว่า นะ ฉัตตะปาณิสสะ นอกนั้นรับต่อพร้อมกันไป หยุดตามจุดลูกน้ำ The deputy leader begins the line na chattapāṇissa, and the rest join together, pausing at the commas.
