เตนะ โข ปะนะ สะมะเยนะ สัก๎ยะปุตโต ปะนันทะสะ,
Tena kho pana samayena sakyaputto panandassa,
Now at that time, belonging to Upananda the Sakyan son,
สามะเณโร กัณฏะโก นามะ กัณฏะกิง ภิกขุนิง ทุสิ.
Sāmaṇero kaṇṭako nāma kaṇṭakiṃ bhikkhuniṃ dusi.
a novice named Kaṇṭaka seduced the nun Kaṇṭakī.
ญัต๎วา ตะมัตถัง ภะคะวา ภิกขูนัญเญวะ สันติกา,
Ñatvā tamatthaṃ bhagavā bhikkhūnaññeva santikā,
The Blessed One, having learnt of that matter from the monks themselves,
อะนุญญาสิ โข นาเสตุง สามะเณรัง ทะสังคิกัง,
Anuññāsi kho nāsetuṃ sāmaṇeraṃ dasaṅgikaṃ,
allowed the expulsion of a novice on ten grounds;
สามะเณรานัง นาสะนะการะณังคัง ภะณามะ เส.
Sāmaṇerānaṃ nāsanakāraṇaṅgaṃ bhaṇāma se.

สามเณรผู้เป็นหัวหน้าขึ้นต้นบทว่า อะนุญญาสิ โข นอกนั้นรับต่อ โส ภะคะวา ฯเปฯ พร้อมกันไป หยุดตามจุดลูกน้ำ ดังนี้. The senior sāmaṇera begins the passage with Anuññāsi kho, and the rest take it up from So bhagavā and so on, going on together, pausing at each comma, thus.

อะนุญญาสิ โข,
Anuññāsi kho,
He allowed —
โส ภะคะวา,
So bhagavā,
that Blessed One —
ทะสะหิ อังเคหิ สะมันนาคะตัง สามะเณรัง นาเสตุง,
Dasahi aṅgehi samannāgataṃ sāmaṇeraṃ nāsetuṃ,
that a novice possessed of ten factors be expelled.
กะตะเมหิ ทะสะหิ,
Katamehi dasahi,
Which ten?
ปาณาติปาตี โหติ,
Pāṇātipātī hoti,
He is one who kills living beings,
อะทินนาทายี โหติ,
Adinnādāyī hoti,
he is one who takes what is not given,
อะพ๎รัห๎มะจารี โหติ,
Abrahmacārī hoti,
he is one who is unchaste,
มุสาวาที โหติ,
Musāvādī hoti,
he is one who speaks falsely,
มัชชะปายี โหติ,
Majjapāyī hoti,
he is one who drinks intoxicants,
พุทธัสสะ อะวัณณัง ภาสะติ,
Buddhassa avaṇṇaṃ bhāsati,
he speaks in dispraise of the Buddha,
ธัมมัสสะ อะวัณณัง ภาสะติ,
Dhammassa avaṇṇaṃ bhāsati,
he speaks in dispraise of the Dhamma,
สังฆัสสะ อะวัณณัง ภาสะติ,
Saṅghassa avaṇṇaṃ bhāsati,
he speaks in dispraise of the Sangha,
มิจฉาทิฏฐิโก โหติ,
Micchādiṭṭhiko hoti,
he is of wrong view,
ภิกขุนี ทูสะโก โหติ.
Bhikkhunī dūsako hoti.
he is a seducer of nuns.
อะนุญญาสิ โข โส ภะคะวา,
Anuññāsi kho so bhagavā,
That Blessed One allowed
อิเมหิ ทะสะหิ อังเคหิ สะมันนาคะตัง สามะเณรัง นาเสตุนติ.
Imehi dasahi aṅgehi samannāgataṃ sāmaṇeraṃ nāsetunti.
that a novice possessed of these ten factors be expelled.
สามเณรอีกรูปหนึ่งขัดบททัณฑกรรม 5 ต่อไป หยุดตามจุดลูกน้ำ ดังนี้. Another sāmaṇera goes on to chant the introductory verse to the five penalties, pausing at each comma, thus.
