อิทัมปิ สังเฆ ระตะนัง ปะณีตัง

Idampi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ

This too is an excellent jewel in the Saṅgha.

เอเตนะ สัจเจนะ สุวัตถิ โหตุ.

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

By this truth, may there be well-being.

ยะถินทะขีโล ปะฐะวิง สิโต สิยา

Yathindakhīlo paṭhaviṃ sito siyā

Just as a locking post, planted firm in the earth,

จะตุพภิ วาเตภิ อะสัมปะกัมปิโย

Catubbhi vātebhi asampakampiyo

cannot be shaken by the winds from the four quarters,

ตะถูปะมัง สัปปุริสัง วะทามิ

Tathūpamaṃ sappurisaṃ vadāmi

so, I say, is the true person to be likened —

โย อะริยะสัจจานิ อะเวจจะ ปัสสะติ

Yo ariyasaccāni avecca passati

the one who sees the noble truths with penetration.

อิทัมปิ สังเฆ ระตะนัง ปะณีตัง

Idampi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ

This too is an excellent jewel in the Saṅgha.

เอเตนะ สัจเจนะ สุวัตถิ โหตุ.

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

By this truth, may there be well-being.

เย อะริยะสัจจานิ วิภาวะยันติ

Ye ariyasaccāni vibhāvayanti

Those who make plain the noble truths,

คัมภีระปัญเญนะ สุเทสิตานิ

Gambhīrapaññena sudesitāni

well taught by him of deep wisdom —

กิญจาปิ เต โหนติ ภุสัปปะมัตตา

Kiñcāpi te honti bhusappamattā

however greatly negligent they may become,

นะ เต ภะวัง อัฏฐะมะมาทิยันติ

Na te bhavaṃ aṭṭhamamādiyanti

they do not take up an eighth existence.

อิทัมปิ สังเฆ ระตะนัง ปะณีตัง

Idampi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ

This too is an excellent jewel in the Saṅgha.

เอเตนะ สัจเจนะ สุวัตถิ โหตุ.

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

By this truth, may there be well-being.

สะหาวัสสะ ทัสสะนะสัมปะทายะ

Sahāvassa dassanasampadāya

Together with his attainment of vision,

ต๎ยัสสุ ธัมมา ชะหิตา ภะวันติ

Tyassu dhammā jahitā bhavanti

three things come to be abandoned in him:

สักกายะทิฏฐิ วิจิกิจฉิตัญจะ

Sakkāyadiṭṭhi vicikicchitañca

identity view, and doubt,

สีลัพพะตัง วาปิ ยะทัตถิ กิญจิ

Sīlabbataṃ vāpi yadatthi kiñci

and clinging to rule and observance, whatever of it there is.

จะตูหะปาเยหิ จะ วิปปะมุตโต

Catūhapāyehi ca vippamutto

He is wholly freed from the four lower realms,

ฉะ จาภิฐานานิ อะภัพโพ กาตุง

Cha cābhiṭhānāni abhabbo kātuṃ

and incapable of committing the six great wrongs.

อิทัมปิ สังเฆ ระตะนัง ปะณีตัง

Idampi saṅghe ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ

This too is an excellent jewel in the Saṅgha.

เอเตนะ สัจเจนะ สุวัตถิ โหตุ.

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu.

By this truth, may there be well-being.

กิญจาปิ โส กัมมัง กะโรติ ปาปะกัง

Kiñcāpi so kammaṃ karoti pāpakaṃ

Though he may still do some evil deed

กาเยนะ วาจายุทะ เจตะสา วา

Kāyena vācāyuda cetasā vā

by body, or by speech, or by mind,

อะภัพโพ โส ตัสสะ ปะฏิจฉะทายะ

Abhabbo so tassa paṭicchadāya

he is incapable of concealing it —

อะภัพพะตา ทิฏฐะปะทัสสะ วุตตา

Abhabbatā diṭṭhapadassa vuttā

for that incapacity is declared of one who has seen the state.
