ยานีธะ ภูตานิ สะมาคะตานิ

Yānīdha bhūtāni samāgatāni

Whatever beings are gathered here,

ภุมมานิ วา ยานิวะ อันตะลิกเข

Bhummāni vā yāniva antalikkhe

whether of the earth or of the sky,

ตะถาคะตัง เทวะมะนุสสะปูชิตัง

Tathāgataṃ devamanussapūjitaṃ

the Tathāgata, honoured by devas and humans —

สังฆัง นะมัสสามะ สุวัตถิ โหตุ.

Saṅghaṃ namassāma suvatthi hotu.

the Saṅgha we salute: may there be well-being.

ยัสสานุภาวะโต ยักขา เนวะ ทัสเสนติ ภิงสะนัง

Yassānubhāvato yakkhā neva dassenti bhiṃsanaṃ

By the power of which the yakkhas show nothing frightful;

ยัมหิ เจวานุยุญชันโต รัตตินทิวะมะตันทิโต,

Yamhi cevānuyuñjanto rattindivamatandito,

and one who applies himself to it, night and day untiring,

สุขัง สุปะติ สุตโต จะ ปาปัง กิญจิ นะ ปัสสะติ,

Sukhaṃ supati sutto ca pāpaṃ kiñci na passati,

sleeps happily, and sleeping sees no evil thing at all;

เอวะมาทิคุณูเปตัง ปะริตตันตัมภะณามะ เห.

Evamādiguṇūpetaṃ parittantambhaṇāma he.

endowed with such qualities as these: that paritta let us now recite.

กะระณียะมัตถะกุสะเลนะ ยันตัง สันตัง ปะทัง อะภิสะเมจจะ,

Karaṇīyamatthakusalena yantaṃ santaṃ padaṃ abhisamecca,

This is what should be done by one skilled in the good, who has understood that state of peace:

สักโก อุชู จะ สุหุชู จะ สุวะโจ จัสสะ มุทุ อะนะติมานี,

Sakko ujū ca suhujū ca suvaco cassa mudu anatimānī,

let him be able, upright, perfectly upright, easy to speak to, gentle, without conceit;

สันตุสสะโก จะ สุภะโร จะ อัปปะกิจโจ จะ สัลละหุกะวุตติ,

Santussako ca subharo ca appakicco ca sallahukavutti,

contented, easily supported, with few duties and a frugal way of life;

สันตินท๎ริโย จะ นิปะโก จะ อัปปะคัพโภ กุเลสุ อะนะนุคิทโธ,

Santindriyo ca nipako ca appagabbho kulesu ananugiddho,

with senses calmed, prudent, not forward, and not greedy among families;

นะ จะ ขุททัง สะมาจะเร กิญจิ เยนะ วิญญู ปะเร อุปะวะเทยยุง,

Na ca khuddaṃ samācare kiñci yena viññū pare upavadeyyuṃ,

and let him not do the slightest thing for which the wise might reprove him.

สุขิโน วา เขมิโน โหนตุ สัพเพ สัตตา ภะวันตุ สุขิตัตตา,

Sukhino vā khemino hontu sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā,

May they be happy and secure; may all beings be happy at heart.

เย เกจิ ปาณะภูตัตถิ ตะสา วา ถาวะรา วา อะนะวะเสสา,

Ye keci pāṇabhūtatthi tasā vā thāvarā vā anavasesā,

Whatever living beings there are — trembling or still, without exception;

ทีฆา วา เย มะหันตา วา มัชฌิมา รัสสะกา อะณุกะถูลา,

Dīghā vā ye mahantā vā majjhimā rassakā aṇukathūlā,

long or great, middling, short, subtle or gross;

ทิฏฐา วา เย จะ อะทิฏฐา เย จะ ทูเร วะสันติ อะวิทูเร,

Diṭṭhā vā ye ca adiṭṭhā ye ca dūre vasanti avidūre,

seen or unseen, dwelling far or near;

ภูตา วา สัมภะเวสี วา สัพเพ สัตตา ภะวันตุ สุขิตัตตา,

Bhūtā vā sambhavesī vā sabbe sattā bhavantu sukhitattā,

already born or still seeking birth — may all beings be happy at heart.

นะ ปะโร ปะรัง นิกุพเพถะ นาติมัญเญถะ กัตถะจิ นัง กิญจิ,

Na paro paraṃ nikubbetha nātimaññetha katthaci naṃ kiñci,

Let none deceive another, nor despise anyone anywhere;

พ๎ยาโรสะนา ปะฏีฆะสัญญา นาญญะมัญญัสสะ ทุกขะมิจเฉยยะ,

Byārosanā paṭīghasaññā nāññamaññassa dukkhamiccheyya,

let none, from anger or ill will, wish harm upon another.

มาตา ยะถา นิยัง ปุตตัง อายุสา เอกะปุตตะมะนุรักเข,

Mātā yathā niyaṃ puttaṃ āyusā ekaputtamanurakkhe,

Just as a mother would protect her only child with her life,
