ชะยัง เทวะมะนุสสานัง ชะโย โหตุ ปะราชิโต

Jayaṃ devamanussānaṃ jayo hotu parājito

Victory for devas and humans — may there be victory, and may the defeated one be put down;

มาระเสนา อะภิกกันตา สะมันตา ท๎วาทะสะโยชะนา

Mārasenā abhikkantā samantā dvādasayojanā

Māra's army came on, twelve leagues deep on every side,

ขันติเมตตาอะธิฏฐานา วิทธังเสต๎วานะ จักขุมา

Khantimettā-adhiṭṭhānā vidhaṃsetvāna cakkhumā

and the One with Vision, resolved on patience and loving-kindness, scattered them;

ภะวาภะเว สังสะรันโต ทิพพะจักขุง วิโสธะยิ

Bhavābhave saṃsaranto dibbacakkhuṃ visodhayi

wandering on from existence to existence, he purified the divine eye,

ปะริยาปันนาทิโสตถานัง หิตายะ จะ สุขายะ จะ

Pariyāpannādisotthānaṃ hitāya ca sukhāya ca

for the safety, the welfare and the happiness of all, beginning with those still bound to the round.

พุทธะกิจจัง วิโสเธต๎วา ปะริตตันตัมภะณามะ เห ฯ

Buddhakiccaṃ visodhetvā parittantambhaṇāma he.

Having brought the Buddha's work to completion — let us now recite that paritta, friends.

มะหาการุณิโก นาโถ หิตายะ สัพพะปาณินัง

Mahākāruṇiko nātho hitāya sabbapāṇinaṃ

The Protector of great compassion, for the welfare of all living beings,

ปูเรต๎วา ปาระมี สัพพา ปัตโต สัมโพธิมุตตะมัง

Pūretvā pāramī sabbā patto sambodhimuttamaṃ

having fulfilled all the perfections, reached the supreme awakening.

เอเตนะ สัจจะวัชเชนะ โหตุ เต ชะยะมังคะลัง ฯ

Etena saccavajjena hotu te jayamaṅgalaṃ.

By the speaking of this truth, may the blessing of victory be yours.

ชะยันโต โพธิยา มูเล สัก๎ยานัง นันทิวัฑฒะโน

Jayanto bodhiyā mūle sakyānaṃ nandivaḍḍhano

Victorious at the foot of the Bodhi tree, increaser of the joy of the Sakyans,

เอวัง ต๎วัง วิชะโย โหหิ ชะยัสสุ ชะยะมังคะเล.

Evaṃ tvaṃ vijayo hohi jayassu jayamaṅgale.

so may you too be victorious — be victorious in the blessing of victory.

อะปะราชิตะปัลลังเก สีเส ปะฐะวิโปกขะเร

Aparājitapallaṅke sīse pathavipokkhare

On the unconquered seat, at the crown of the earth's lotus-ground,

อะภิเสเก สัพพะพุทธานัง อัคคัปปัตโต ปะโมทะติ ฯ

Abhiseke sabbabuddhānaṃ aggappatto pamodati.

at the consecration place of all the Buddhas, he rejoices, having reached the highest.

สุนักขัตตัง สุมังคะลัง สุปะภาตัง สุหุฏฐิตัง

Sunakkhattaṃ sumaṅgalaṃ supabhātaṃ suhuṭṭhitaṃ

A good star, a good blessing, a good dawn, a good waking,

สุขะโณ สุมุหุตโต จะ สุยิฏฐัง พ๎รัห๎มะจาริสุ.

Sukhaṇo sumuhutto ca suyiṭṭhaṃ brahmacārisu.

a good moment, a good instant — and a gift well given to those who live the holy life.

ปะทักขิณัง กายะกัมมัง วาจากัมมัง ปะทักขิณัง

Padakkhiṇaṃ kāyakammaṃ vācākammaṃ padakkhiṇaṃ

Auspicious the act of body, auspicious the act of speech,

ปะทักขิณัง มะโนกัมมัง ปะณิธี เต ปะทักขิณา.

Padakkhiṇaṃ manokammaṃ paṇidhī te padakkhiṇā.

auspicious the act of mind, and auspicious are your aspirations.

ปะทักขิณานิ กัต๎วานะ ละภันตัตเถ ปะทักขิเณ.

Padakkhiṇāni katvāna labhantatthe padakkhiṇe.

Having done what is auspicious, they gain the auspicious goods.

โส อัตถะลัทโธ สุขิโต วิรุฬโห พุทธะสาสะเน

So atthaladdho sukhito viruḷho buddhasāsane

May he, having gained the goal, be happy, thriving in the Buddha's teaching;

อะโรโค สุขิโต โหหิ สะหะ สัพเพหิ ญาติภิ.

Arogo sukhito hohi saha sabbehi ñātibhi.

may he be free of illness and happy, together with all his kin.

สา อัตถะลัทธา สุขิตา วิรุฬหา พุทธะสาสะเน

Sā atthaladdhā sukhitā viruḷhā buddhasāsane

May she, having gained the goal, be happy, thriving in the Buddha's teaching;

อะโรคา สุขิตา โหหิ สะหะ สัพเพหิ ญาติภิ.

Arogā sukhitā hohi saha sabbehi ñātibhi.

may she be free of illness and happy, together with all her kin.

เต อัตถะลัทธา สุขิตา วิรุฬหา พุทธะสาสะเน

Te atthaladdhā sukhitā viruḷhā buddhasāsane

May they, having gained the goal, be happy, thriving in the Buddha's teaching;
